Bob Besaw

Being a professional observer for over 50 years, I’ve notice my vision has changed, not just in the physical sense, but also in what has been my life’s work.

Although the elements of the abstract have shown from time to time in my career, I have basically relied on my illustrative skills as a mainstay in my art. The pandemic, as bad as it was, has led me to greater introspection and observation.

Through abstraction, color, texture and emotion, I am attempting to capture Maine’s rugged reality, from the coastal boatyards to apple orchards and sumac entanglements.

More of what I imagine and feel, other than what is, becomes an atypical image as compared to reality.

Hopefully I will continue to evolve and bring Joy to myself and viewers, with my images.
