I have been drawing all my life. I studied mural making, pottery and tile making at the Cambridge School of Weston with Thea Karr in my high school years and continued on to study painting with Jimmy Luders and printmaking with Morris Blackburn at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia. I taught art at the Amity school and became a class teacher of fourth and fifth graders and continued my education gaining a BA degree at Columbia University. I ran a pottery studio in Amity, New York and did craft fairs in Manhattan before moving to Maine is 1996 to join the Monday Night Art Group, painting and showing with John Dehlinger and Terry Wolf. I studied silk painting with Fiona Washburn and began painting on silk as well as canvas. My work is an exploration of color and composition whether I’m working abstractly or representationally. I love painting landscape and painting from nature and also working in the studio on things never seen in nature: marks on canvas or paper unique to the time and idea.
